Spray Products Acquires New Facility with Revitalization Support
Revitalized site meets expansion needs of rapidly growing company
Spray Products Corp., a leading manufacturer of aerosol and liquid consumer products, has acquired a 270,000 square-foot facility in Medina, Ohio. The company has committed to creating 37 jobs with the potential of hiring more than 50 employees over the next several years.
Over the past five years, Spray Products has grown approximately 125 percent and needed to expand its production and distribution facilities. In order to continue its growth, the company sought a larger location. After evaluating several options, Spray Products decided that the Medina facility was the best fit for its investment.
Founded in 1958, Spray Products provides specialized aerosol and liquid packaging services for clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to small businesses, throughout all phases of production.
“We are thrilled to formally announce that we will soon join the Medina community, and we are extremely grateful to those who have partnered with us to make this expansion a reality,” said Spray Products President Bart Bastian. “Over the past 60 years, Spray Products, founded by my father, has evolved to meet customers’ demands and the growth of technology. Today, we are proud to take the company to the next level through this larger, full-service addition that will enable Spray Products to significantly expand its capabilities and efficiency.”
The former site of Valspar, also an aerosol manufacturer, was an ideal fit for Spray Products’ type of production. Collaboration with key local, regional and state organizations made this investment possible, including support from a JobsOhio Revitalization Grant. Although the facility sat vacant for well over a year, its unique characteristics made it an attractive option for Spray Products. The facility required much renovation and work to get it back up to code, which made it a perfect fit for the JobsOhio Revitalization Grant.
“Medina County’s economic development team worked collaboratively to bring a variety of resources to Spray Products during their decision-making process. This project had tremendous support from the city, Team NEO and JobsOhio. Also contributing to the financing of the building was the Medina County Port Authority, in partnership with the Development Finance Authority of Summit County,” said Bethany Dentler, executive director of the Medina County Economic Development Corp. “The investment and new jobs being created by Spray Products are a great contribution to our growing local economy.”
Spray Products plans to have initial manufacturing on track to start in mid-May.
