JobsOhio Applauds Marketing Campaign to Attract Residents
JobsOhio, the State's private nonprofit economic development corporation designed to drive job creation and new capital investment in Ohio, is pleased to support the state's new marketing program, "The Heart of it All." Building on the success of TourismOhio's "Ohio: Find It Here" marketing campaign that encouraged travelers to experience Ohio attractions, the Ohio Department of Development's new "Ohio: The Heart of it All" brand campaign expands the state's appeal beyond tourism to attract permanent residents to the state.
"Talent is the lifeblood of Ohio's economy and the heart of why companies want to build their futures here," said J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO. "While Ohio is actively investing in innovation ecosystems, boosting STEM graduation rates, and expanding our skilled workforce, we need to attract a continuous infusion of top new talent from outside our state to keep pace with projected demand."
JobsOhio economists predict that the state will need to fill 510,000 priority tech, Industry 4.0, and life sciences jobs over the next ten years. For example, the $38 billion in industrial capital investments secured by JobsOhio in partnership with its regional economic development network and the DeWine-Husted administration in 2021 and 2022 alone will support more than 55,000 new Ohio jobs when fully up and running in the next few years. Those high-paying new jobs will stimulate additional direct (supply chain) and indirect (services) jobs throughout the state.
"Ohio's economy ranks in the top 10 for industrial diversity and is growing more diverse at a faster rate than any of our regional peers and most of our big coastal state competitors," Mr. Nauseef explained. "That really translates to immediate employment opportunities and an open invitation for people with diverse skills and backgrounds to build their careers, raise their families and pursue their version of the American Dream in Ohio."
As Ohio continues attracting new residents and businesses, JobsOhio and its network partners look forward to working alongside the state to shape a brighter future for all Ohioans. "We are proud to work alongside the DeWine/Husted Administration and Director Mihalik to advance Ohio and enhance the lives of Ohioans, prospective residents, and business leaders alike," Mr. Nauseef concluded. "Ohio truly is the Heart of it All, and we are committed to amplifying this message to the world."
