Ohio: Where Heroes Are Embraced & Empowered
Ohio is proud to welcome retired, enlisted, and aspiring military leaders and their families to build their futures in our state. Whether or not they have ever been stationed at one of our nine military bases and installations, we encourage all our nation’s heroes – active-duty and veterans alike – to pursue their personal American Dreams in Ohio’s thriving private-sector workforce.
Our military heroes need a true home base to start their next chapter of civilian life that offers three essential benefits: opportunity, affordability, and cultural fit.
It is our goal to be the nation’s most military-friendly state. Ohio’s pro-military policies include:
- Tax-free military retirement income
- Special military healthcare benefits
- Occupational state licensing reciprocity for military spouses
- K-through-12 and higher education support
- Up-skilling and on-the-job training programs
- Veteran services offices in each of Ohio’s 88 counties
- Ohio is a designated Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone (MSEEZ), which helps address the challenges faced by military spouses seeking meaningful employment.
At JobsOhio, we offer several programs and partner with organizations across the state to help military families thrive.
